When looking back through our recent wedding highlights we couldn’t help but include this dream summer wedding at Kensington Palace Pavilion and Gardens, which was perfectly orchestrated by luxury event designer Michel Camilos and HRP Events, working alongside the wonderful Rhubarb Food and Wise Productions.

We love being given the opportunity to create the wow factor and to imagine statement features for our clients, therefore when Michel approached us with a brief that allowed us to not only be creative from a floral design perspective, but to also test our sustainable approach, we let our imagination run wild.

Working so closely with a natural product, it is our conscious duty to protect Mother Nature in every way possible, therefore as we progress forward as a brand we have firmly put sustainability at the forefront of our agenda, in particular by cutting our consumption of floral foam, which as a non-biodegradable plastic product is an ongoing issue within the floristry community.

Wherever possible we avoid using florist foam, devising solutions to build and construct floral designs using alternative environmentally friendly means. This wedding was no exception, when designing a jaw dropping 11.5m wide by 3m high flower wall we set ourselves the task of eliminating the use of the product. Behind the scenes we worked closely with our fellow suppliers to construct the flower wall using a beautiful trellis as the structure of choice, this allowed the florists to attach the wild and wonderful foliages and flowers to fill the backdrop, sans foam.

Working within Kensington Palace Pavilion provides us with the scope to produce large scale installations using multiple design styles. Cradle Walk was filled with suspended tealights creating a magical entrance for the bride to glide through, in what can only be described as a show stopping dress by Ashi Studio. Moving through to the ceremony space guests were treated to a hanging forest filled with sumptuous seasonal trailing foliage, birch trees punctuated the space surrounded by floral garlands and a cabaret style seating area framed the aisle with delicate floral centrepieces. English foliages, sweetly scented Jasmine, wild Anemones and David Austin Roses took centre stage.

All of our green waste and cardboard is separated by us, composted and recycled. Flowers, foliages and plants once used for Events and Weddings are distributed amongst our local community and hospices or re-purposed by the wonderful Floral Angels to be loved again.
